Aquarium visit

We took advantage of our day off by visiting the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.

Stan Musial

Stan Musial died today at the age of 92. He was my father's favorite baseball player.

Here is his New York Times obituary.

Colby will inherit the baseball cards shown below and other Stan "The Man" memorabilia from me some day. I hope he enjoys the game and its history as much as my father did and I still do.

Horsey ride

Colby now knows how to ask for a horsey ride. He hasn't yet learned to hold on properly and we will not get him any spurs. Grandi is the horse in the picture below.

Colby continues to show an interest in musical instruments. We will let him practice on this one at a church for awhile yet.

2013

We welcomed 2013 with a nice meal of pork chops with pineapple sauce, cabbage casserole, black eyed peas and warm peaches with cinnamon.

Christmas 2012

We spent the last few days of our Christmas vacation at Lake Lure, which is in mountains in western North Carolina.  Lure is approximately one hour (on very curvy and hilly roads) from Asheville.  Grandi and Gigi were anxious to spend more time with Colby before he returned home so Ashley and I left him with them and we ventured off to the Biltmore estate, the fabulous home of the Vanderbilt's, which was nicely decorated for Christmas.  Here are a few pictures of what we saw.
