Christmas 2012

We spent the last few days of our Christmas vacation at Lake Lure, which is in mountains in western North Carolina.  Lure is approximately one hour (on very curvy and hilly roads) from Asheville.  Grandi and Gigi were anxious to spend more time with Colby before he returned home so Ashley and I left him with them and we ventured off to the Biltmore estate, the fabulous home of the Vanderbilt's, which was nicely decorated for Christmas.  Here are a few pictures of what we saw.

Bar-B-Que

Ashley must have bar-b-que when she visits North Carolina. She found a good one in Marion --- Countryside Bar-B-Que -- on our way to Lake Lure. Colby loved their hush puppies and was entertained by the two pigs near the front entrance.

Colby had a very nice Christmas.   We are each enjoying spending time together following a pretty busy year.  Colby opened gifts in three different locations:

While visiting Ashley's grandmother, uncles, aunts and cousins on her father's side in Wilson, NC.  And finally, in Hickory NC at the home of Gigi and Grandy where he enjoyed several days in the company of his cousins Max and Maren.

Assembling Christmas Presents

The first of Colby's Christmas presents is now assembled!!! Santa found this one in the Munich airport.

A weekend of hugging

Colby had a terrific time at Tumble Jungle Saturday afternoon.  Ashley and I have been hugging him almost non-stop since Friday evening.

We are enjoying our time at Grandma's.

One Final Florida Post

We visited the Miami Aquarium Sunday.  Colby didn't know what to think of the parrot on his arm!

We spent the weekend in Key Biscayne Florida. Brian was here for work since Wednesday so Ashley and Colby flew down Friday afternoon.

We spent most of the day Saturday at the pool. Colby loved the waterfall and watching the iguanas on the property. Several other guests commented on how "smiley" he was.

While Mommy is away

Mrs. Grace arrived early so that Daddy could go to work. When Colby woke she dressed and fed him. Then it was off to daycare at our Church. Colby helped by carrying his lunch all by himself.

The report at the end of the day was great. He played and napped nicely and followed the teachers instructions. Daddy is very proud and hopefully Mommy sleeps well knowing her son is in good hands.
