The smile has returned

Colby is feeling better this week.







Unfortunately Mommy and Daddy are now a little under the weather.

Taking a bite

We are slowly building a college fund for Colby.  A few shares of Apple, Inc. were purchased in August 2011 on the day Tim Cook was named to replace Steve Jobs as CEO.  A few more were purchased this morning following last night's "poor" earnings report.  There are certainly many concerning issues in the global economy but a bet we are comfortable taking is that the creative engineers at Apple will continue to create compelling products for years to come. 

Difficult week

Colby has been sick since Sunday. The doctors don't know exactly what ails him. Mommy and Daddy are juggling staying home with him while trying to keep up with their jobs. Here is Colby in the doctor's office.

Dear Readers,

Our apologies for not posting in a while.  Brian's old computer now resides in computer heaven and he stayed up late last night getting his new one operational.

Our calendar over the last few weeks included several nice events, including:

A horse jumping competition at the Hunt Club with our friend Mrs. Celia and her family

A two week visit by Colby's grandparents from Hickory which included a wonderful July 4 fireworks celebration at Compo Beach

Basketball on the hoop and ball present from Colby's great grandfather Ray

Lots of laughs with Gigi and Grandi in our backyard

Staying cool by running through the children's sprinkler (truth be told Colby is not yet comfortable running through on his own so Mommy helped out!)

A four day visit by Uncle Robert and Aunt Barbara who drove here from Wilson, NC

A refreshing swim in the Long Island Sound
