Balloons and sweet potatoes

We learned two things about Colby this weekend. First, he loves sweet potato fries.

Second, he is fascinated by balloons. He was captivated by three balloons during the social hour following Sunday's church service. He kept pointing at the balloons regardless of where we were in the room. When he was able to touch the balloons he laughed and laughed and laughed. So, of course, Daddy just had to buy Colby a balloon at the grocery store later that day.

This final picture shows Colby next to his new bookcase, a birthday present from his Grandma W.

Pig Carving Workshop

We attended a Pig Carving Workshop at Millstone Farm today.  The demonstration was hosted by the owner and chef of The Schoolhouse At Cannondale.  Colby saw some farm animals following the workshop.

Playground

We took Colby to the Compo Beach playground Saturday afternoon. We watched older children play and then decided to put Colby into a baby swing. He did not know what to think the first few times he went back and forth. But then his ever present smile soon appeared and he really seemed to enjoy the ride. We will likely return again soon.

Tunnel

Colby received a tunnel as a present on his birthday.  He was hesitant to enter the first several times we placed him in front of it.  He would see Mommy and Daddy at the other end smiling and encouraging him to enter but he decided to crawl around the outside rather then through the tunnel.  He eventually became comfortable enough (perhaps when he saw Mommy crawl through the tunnel?) to enter and then smiled as he crawled the rest of the way through.

Ski weekend, part 2

In addition to downhill skiing and spending time with some great friends we also did some snowmobiling.

Ski weekend

The three of us spent the weekend at Gore Mountain, located in the Adirondack mountain range in New York. We skied Saturday and Sunday and enjoyed the company of our hosts, the Crikelair family.
