The end of maternity leave
Following a terrific weekend spent celebrating Brian's birthday and his first Father's Day, we awoke early Monday to the realization that the day for Ashley to return to her office after sixteen weeks of maternity leave had arrived. This of course meant that Colby would begin daycare. We spent Sunday evening completing daycare paperwork and filling his bag with diapers, bottles and a toy or two. We feel quite fortunate that Ashley was able to spend so much time with him and that she had a job waiting for her at the end. Ashley and Colby were greeted with cheers by the daycare personnel and everything on Colby's first day worked out great. He came home with the certificate shown below.

A Phillies fan visits Toronto
Brian was in Toronto, Canada Thursday. Painful memories were stirred when he saw the baseball stadium (the building with the white roof in the picture) as this was the city in which the Phillies lost the 1993 World Series to end what had been a very entertaining season.

Green's Farms Church 300th Anniversary
Much of the weekend was spent attending various events that celebrated the fabulous history of our church. An art show, and video premiere, were Friday night. Our covenant group friend Karen made this wonderful quilt which traces the history of GFC.
On Sunday, we attended a special service, with lots of great music, which was followed by a wonderful outdoor lunch under a big tent.
Our covenant group friend Allen was given a nice map in appreciation of his Honorary Chairmanship of the 300th Anniversary Committee.
Congressman Jim Himes spoke to everyone about our great heritage.
While Colby had his picture taken with members of the fife and drum contingent.
Colby also received a new toy this week, Sophie the giraffe, which he is holding under his arm.

Visitors
Ashley's friends Allison, Sara (and her daughter Isla) visited this weekend. We spent Saturday at the beach.
I will end this post with another picture from our fantastic Memorial Day. This shows Colby with his mother and Great Grandmother Clark.
